Checking out the “Big Three” for the last time, that’s how things ended for Kevin, Kate and Randall.
It’s been a powerful journey full of twists and turns, lots of laughs and lots and lots of tears, but Tuesday night marked the final chapter of “This Is Us”.
We are doing a chronicle of this program from the beginning because it immediately stood out from its peers, domestic and cable and streaming. From the pilot’s temporary turn to the different timelines traveled throughout the series, it soon became clear that this would be a different story from any other on television. It basically demanded our attention.

While “This Is Us” closed a six-season series on Tuesday night, this expansive approach that took us generations past and into the future focused on two key moments in the life of the “Big Three.”
One was the funeral of her mother, Rebecca Pearson. The other was a rainy Saturday day of “nothing” at home with the family, because it’s not just the big moments that define a life. In many cases, it is those days without laziness that carry the most weight, as there is nothing to distract.
Throughout the show, we enjoyed flashbacks from different days of raising the Big Three, so there was something appropriate for a seemingly random day to be such an important part of the end of the series.
After all, the message in the present is that life goes on. And life, after all, is made up of all these random days coming together to create something spectacular.
There were so many nice little moments throughout the episode, probably the only big regret for the fans will be Miguel’s total and total absence, except for a brief mention of him when Deja was doing Randall on the his mourning process.

We revisited the final moments of Rebecca’s train journey to the afterlife where she and Jack were lying in bed again. There are many theories as to why the second husband Miguel had such a tiny part in his last chapter, but above all there is frustration.
Miguel was abandoned throughout the season, and when his story is finally told, he is right at the end of the series, and then dies in that same episode. From here, things get trickier, and this is where Rebecca comes in.
It would have been sweet if somehow Jack and Miguel were there with her in the end; after all, they were best friends. Seeing them together would have been touching and sweet.
Are we supposed to believe that people who marry more than once can only be connected to one of these loves in the end?
As far as we could see, it was the whole family that gathered for Rebecca’s funeral, as well as a couple of looks at different times, including baby Jack in the future during a montage of parents pushing the their children on swings; a look at Rebecca’s cherished childhood memory with her father.
Life goes on. But that is the beauty of a well-lived life. Even when it’s over, it’s still in the lives of everyone you’ve touched, directly or indirectly. We are, after all, a community of individuals, but we seldom live our lives alone. Even Nicky was persuaded to get out of his trailer and live life.
For the last time, we will highlight the most powerful moments of the show. We have still classified these moments, but we will not bother to highlight how many fabrics we have used. The box is empty.

“You really ended my life, boy”
This was a good look at Uncle Nicky’s journey throughout the series, as well as a totally appropriate fact for him to recognize the role he played in Kevin to help him find his way back. in the dark. He also pointed out that Nicky helped Kevin as much as Kevin helped him. Kevin’s worst enemy has always been his own insecurities and his need to be the best (or at least seen that way). Nicky helped him humble himself and see the value of someone else. Nicky’s transformation was nothing short of miraculous, and the same can be said of Kevin, albeit in more subtle but equally significant ways.
“Yes, you are”
Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you wanted, and in the case of Kate and Toby, none of us wanted this marriage to end. At the same time, in this scene we could see the value of the end of their marriage. Ultimately, they were not suitable for each other, but they grew so big that they stopped trying to force their marriage to work. Sometimes you have to step back and realize that society and expectations do not dictate what is right and what is wrong. Only you, in the middle of the thing, can know the right way, if you only allow yourself to see it and have the courage to take it. It may not seem easy right now, but when it’s right, it will pay off well, and over time, you’ll get to see it.
“I don’t know how to discipline someone who is already tougher on himself than he could ever be”
The sign of a good father is to know your children and how to get there. That lazy Saturday, after being an idiot all morning, Randall shared something pretty bad he had done at school to avoid embarrassment and get him hooked (he redirected the humiliation to another child). But then he shared how much he was sticking to it, and that’s Randall. Jack knows this about his son and therefore knows that it makes no sense to give him a lecture or even really punish him. Randall is disciplined enough for all his brothers. So he took the opportunity to address the reason why Randall was embarrassed and teach him how to shave. It became a double after Kevin showed up, but it was one of those bonding experiences that parents and children remember forever. One of those little moments that grows in our memories as life goes on, taken from time to time and loved again.

“Not everything will be easy”
Just as Jack knew exactly how to deal with Randall’s discomfort, Rebecca knows at this point in her teenage life exactly what drives Kevin. Things have always gone very well for the popular and handsome boy. He can’t approve that he lied about why he couldn’t do a pull-up, but still told him he was fine if he’s not great at everything right away. But he also told her, “It will make life’s great victories a little more special when you have to work hard for them.” It’s not always been easy to motivate Kevin, but of course Rebecca was perfect. Making things work with Sophie was a lifetime of growth and hard work, but how sweet it was when it bore fruit. Life is not about easy victories, but about struggles. These are the ones that most mean and shape us.
“As long as I know where you are, I always know where I’m going”
More than any other Pearson safe, perhaps Jack, Kate has always appreciated the value and importance of family in life. His parents were his main supporters of growing up, and his brothers were right there. Diadi even stepped up to defend her when she and Toby were fighting. And once he gained his own confidence, some of the strength and conviction he had in going out to conquer the world came from knowing that they were always there to give him unconditional support. It was sweet that this line came out during a game of Pin the Tail on the Burke, as it revealed that he could always find the queue because his family never kept quiet and marked where they were all in the room. But the message remained moving throughout his life. The family, good family, is there forever. Remember where you come from, where your values come from, this is how you can forge your best life in the future. Losing sight of that is when you can lose direction.
“At least I still have the scar”
Most of us carry small (or large) scars on our body, but they are more than just beauty marks. They are vivid impressions of moments in our lives, physical snapshots of memories. For Rebecca, a small scar under her eye was the moment when her thighs came out badly while her father was pushing her on a swing, but it’s not bad that the scar helps her remember. That was how special those moments were with her father. His only regret had nothing to do with his injury, but about how he spent too much time thinking about all the wrong things. “I really wish I had spent more time appreciating it when it happened, rather than worrying about when it would end,” he told Jack during that flashback morning. Life is meant to be lived as it is happening, being fully present in the experience. That’s why you’ll hear that older people suggest not capturing the whole experience on your phone instead of immersing yourself in each …
