After finally launching their promotional tour on April 18th, Thor: Love and Thunder is advancing towards the July 8th release date with exciting new updates at every turn. The first trailer gave fans a glimpse of a God of Thunder behind the Guardians of the Galaxy, Korg and Valkyrie, and ended with a vision of Natalie Portman as the Mighty Thor.
While Portman didn’t get any dialogue and saw less than five seconds of screen time, his return will have a key impact on the story that Thor 4 will add to the ever-expanding MCU. It has been confirmed that she will take on the comic story of Jane when she suffers from cancer, fans are hoping to find out how she takes possession of a recovered Mjolnir as the powerful hammer returns to glory.

Reports had shared how much time Portman spent in the gym exercising to make sure he had the physique to embody the new goddess of thunder, especially coming back to the side of a shocker Chris Hemsworth than ever. It’s safe to say that this trailer alone showed how this work bore fruit, letting its new form of superhero shine as it handled Mjolnir and put the attack on anyone who gets in its way.
With Thor and Jane broken up before the events of Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, much of the running time of the sequel will likely focus on their reunion as they try to figure out where they are with each other. Introduce Jane’s new powers after “eight years, seven months and six days … give or take” each other, and add a fun new dynamic for Thor to face as his support cast grows even more. .
All in all, Marvel intends to bring Portman back into the spotlight as he becomes a fully-fledged hero for the first time in his third full-length MCU movie (the fourth when it comes to Avengers: Endgame ). His story will be one that adds a lot of intrigue to the plot as a whole, and there is no doubt that he will be one of the most powerful new characters in the franchise upon his return.
