Boston Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale was caught in front of the camera after being withdrawn from a minor league rehab game on Wednesday, and did not appear to be happy.
Just look at these pictures of the track between the dugout and the clubhouse:
Sale, who is recovering from a rib fracture, struggled with his command for 3.2 innings for the Worcester Red Sox, the team’s AAA club. While he put in five, he also did five per base, including a walk loaded with bases in the third.
Despite command problems, Sale declared himself “very prepared” to return to the big league club.
The WooSox lost to the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre RailRiders – AAA subsidiary of rivals New York Yankees – 4-2.
However, this was not the biggest crisis outside the Sale camp. That came in 2016, when he was with the Chicago White Sox, and he didn’t want to wear team uniforms. In response, Sale cut off the uniforms of the entire team during baptism practice. He was sanctioned for five days.
