In a tragic accident over the holiday weekend, the husband of “One Tree Hill” star Bevin Prince William Friend died after being struck by lightning. He was 33 years old.
A friend was beaten Sunday, according to the National Lightning Safety Council, while riding a boat near Masonboro Island, North Carolina, near his home in Wilmington. He was pronounced dead in an ambulance, according to WECT-TV. He is the third person to die from lightning this year in the US

John Jensenius of the National Lightning Safety Council told the press that it is incredibly dangerous to be homeless near water during a storm.
“Some people think there’s a little bit of protection just based on a little bit of metal, but there really isn’t when you think lightning enters your ship’s metal systems and you’re very close to them.” explained. “Really, [there’s] very little protection; especially if you are [in] an open ship “.
Prince has yet to talk about the loss of her husband, but her close friend Odette Annable (“Walker”) paid tribute to her via Instagram.

Prince gained fame through a recurring role in “One Tree Hill” from 2004 to 2012, returning for the end of the series. She was originally selected when she was still in college as an extra in the role of a cheerleader. This role expanded to recurring character Bevin Mirskey, who appeared in the first four seasons.
She and Friend were married in May 2016. The couple co-founded Recess, a local fitness business.
