Red Dead Online will no longer receive “major thematic content updates” in part because Rockstar Games is incorporating resources into the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title, the study said Thursday. Fans have wondered if Red Dead Online has been abandoned, and while the game isn’t closing, Rockstar won’t be making as much content to move forward.
“Over the last few years, we have been constantly moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, understanding more than ever the need to exceed player expectations and make this next entry the best it can be. as a result, we are in the process of making some changes in the way we support Red Dead Online, “Rockstar wrote in a blog post.
As for the future of Red Dead Online, “along with seasonal special events and experience enhancements, as well as other changes to improve and maintain a healthy Red Dead Online environment, we plan to build on existing modes and add new Telegram missions this year, rather than offering them.important thematic content updates as in previous years, and we will continue to highlight and share the creative efforts of our Red Dead community at every opportunity through Newswire and beyond, ”Rockstar said.
Prior to Rockstar’s announcement Thursday, a Red Dead franchise fan account had been planning a funeral for Red Dead Online for July 13, the one-year anniversary of the major content update more recent game. The funeral is still scheduled for next week.
