Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA VI, if that’s what the next entry in the series will be called, has been working on earlier this year when it announced the release date of GTA V and GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series X . | S. Now, in a post detailing a major update to the GTA Online experience, the developer said it has been “constantly moving more development resources” toward the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title in recent years. The company has done so, because it understands the “need to exceed players’ expectations, ”but as a result has had to make changes to the way it supports Red Dead Online.
The most important change for Red Dead gamers is that the developer will no longer release major thematic updates like previous years. As GameRant explains, this means there are no more new specialist features, missions, and game modes. The company will continue to build on existing modes and add new Telegram Missions, which are solo activities players can do to get rewards, this year. But from now on, Rockstar will focus on showcasing previously added roles and missions during Red Dead Online’s monthly events.
Red Dead Online gamers had complained about the lack of substantial updates in the past and Rockstar’s tendency to prioritize the Grand Theft Auto franchise over its other games. However, GTA is a big money generator for the developer, so it’s no surprise that Rockstar has decided to put all its efforts into making sure fans will love GTA VI.
