Severe storm watch issued for NB center

Environment Canada has issued severe storm warnings in central parts of the province for Saturday evening.

Heavy storms could occur in the Fredericton and Miramichi regions with the possibility of heavy rainfall and strong winds. The weather service says rainfall of 25 millimeters per hour and gusts of wind of 90 kilometers per hour are possible.

“Heavy showers can cause sudden flooding and water accumulation on the roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go home!” said Environment Canada in a warning.
