The first post-launch map for Hitman 3 arrives in late July

Hitman 3’s newest location, Ambrose Island, will arrive free for all game owners on July 26th. It is the first new map after the launch of the 2021 game, which will arrive just over 18 months after its release. In a revelation trailer released Friday, it looks like Agent 47 will face the ruthless warlord / cult leader of an island of out-of-network outcasts.

“Ambrose Island is a hidden cove, where there is a dangerous pirate union operating in the Andaman Sea,” IO Interactive said in a blog post. “The location of the fully explorable sandbox is full of new goals, game opportunities, challenges, unlockable rewards and is free for all Hitman 3 owners.” One of these unlockables is the Guerrilla Wetsuit, which the 47 wears at the end of the trailer above.

Ambrose Island was revealed in May, when IO Interactive said that the single-player freelancer mode would be delayed to the second half of 2022. Freelancer is supposed to bring new assassination campaign missions and a customizable shelter where 47 store your computer. The Ambrose Island release date was moved to take into account the delay of Freelancer.

The new map closes the post-July content pack for Hitman 3. Right now, the Himmapan Hotel in Bangkok is in the rotation of free game locations; is available until July 17th. A new Elusive Target, fan favorite Vicente Murillo, joined the game on Friday and is available for the next 10 days. More details on this month’s content roadmap are available at IO Interactive.
