Lamar Jackson changes social media profile photos to say “I need $”; QB denies it is a message to the Ravens

Lamar Jackson is looking for a new deal with the Baltimore Ravens, and it looked like he was making it known what he wants through his social media accounts. This weekend, Jackson changed his Twitter cover photo and Instagram profile photo to a gold-toothed photo that says, “I NEED $.”

With an imminent extension of the Ravens, it was fair for everyone to assume that this new image had to do with the state of affairs in contract negotiations. However, Jackson said it had absolutely nothing to do with the Ravens. The image simply comes from a movie he liked.

“I don’t know why people make it explode. I just saw the Bleacher Report post it. They just take anything that is posted on social media and make it explode, and they try to think for you. I don’t take it either. Seriously.” , Jackson told USA TODAY Sports.

“They make it look like I’m talking to the Ravens when I’m not. Our discussion about the contract is already underway. But it’s not about that. I’m not putting my business life on social media. I will never do that. I won’t put my personal life on social media – I’ll show things, but I won’t throw subliminal. [messages] out. It’s not me. “

Jackson is heading into the final year of his rookie contract and has expressed that he wants to play his entire career in Baltimore. The 25-year-old said rumors that he is looking at a future separation from the Ravens are a “false narrative,” but Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said this low season that both sides are unlikely to reach a agreement in the near future, suggesting Jackson has shown no urgency to negotiate with CEO Eric DeCosta.

While Jackson skipped the low-season volunteer workouts, he attended the team’s mandatory mini-camp in mid-June. If no deal is reached before the season, a franchise label could be the way the situation ends.

In his career, Jackson has thrown 9,967 yards and 84 touchdowns with 31 interceptions in 58 games played. His resume includes an MVP season, two Pro Bowl selections, an All-Pro first team nomination and the NFL touchdown leader (2019).
