“Scream of anguish” before a woman is found dead in Melbourne

A man has been arrested after a woman’s body was found in a house in west Melbourne. Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old woman who was found with fatal injuries at a Bacchus Marsh home.

Emergency services were called to an address at Egan Court, Darley, at 10:30 p.m. last night.

Neighbors say they heard a noise coming from the house.

“Thinking about it now was probably a cry of anguish,” said neighbor Maria Brown.

“It was just a scream at the time.”

Another neighbor Chris Ward said he could hear the screams.r. (new)

Another neighbor, Chris Ward, said waking up and hearing the news this morning was a confrontation.

“It’s too close, it’s scary to know that this could happen anywhere, even where you least expect it to happen,” he said.

“Basically, I was sitting in my room and I could only hear, two people. I don’t know, but I couldn’t solve it, there were screams or discussion.”
