“Having had such a positive experience over the last year, it wasn’t a difficult decision when Nordisk Games wanted to explore increasing its investment,” said Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive.

“We have an exciting and ambitious growth strategy for Supermassive Games and ownership of Nordisk Games just improves that. I’m very excited about where the security this partnership offers us and continued access to the Nordisk Games experience will bring us.”

The acquisition should not negatively affect the development of Supermassive games – with a new Dark Pictures game, The Devil in Me, the only one we know is in development – and Nordisk also made it clear that it wants the study continues to focus on history. style of play.

“The year we’ve worked alongside Pete and Joe and the entire Supermassive team, it’s become clear to us how much talent, as well as the potential, there is to further develop the types of games based on stories and narratives. which stand out. “, said Nordisk Games CEO Mikkel Weider. “By acquiring 100% of the studio, we will be able to increase our support for the team and, most importantly, continue the great working relationship we have with them.”

Supermassive recently released The Quarry, the true spiritual sequel to their 2015 hit Until Dawn, but has worked primarily at Dark Pictures outside of those two. However, it looks like it has much more planned, as the studio has registered trademarks for at least six more entries.
