An Adelaide restaurant manager has been jailed for nine years for raping an employee who was supposed to be training and for assaulting a teenage worker.
Miguel De Sa, 32, was found guilty by a jury earlier this year of two counts of rape against a staff member.
In early 2020, under the guise of a job training session that consisted of teaching the victim how to pour beers and mix drinks, De Sa invited her to try the drinks before suggesting that she continue to the nearby bars.

The court heard that the victim “began to feel extremely intoxicated.”
“The next memory of the victim is being inside a silver car, he didn’t know how he got there or where he was going, then he remembered being inside a house he didn’t know in a bedroom he didn’t recognize “Judge Anthony said Allen.
Judge Allen said it would have been “clearly obvious” to De Sa that his victim could not consent.
“You have shown no insight or contrition for your offense and continue to maintain your innocence,” he said.
At the time of this crime, De Sa was already on bail for indecently assaulting a teenage waitress in a cafe, for which he was later jailed.
Today he has been sentenced to an additional 6 years and 6 months in addition to the time he is already serving.
He will be eligible for parole in 2026 and is likely to face deportation to Portugal.
