The body found in the Assiniboine River near Brandon identified as a missing man

The RCMP has confirmed that a body found in the Assiniboine River in southwestern Manitoba was that of 41-year-old Jordan Ross, who was reported missing last month.

On the afternoon of June 30, Brandon police and the RCMP responded to a report of a body on the river near Dinsdale Park in Brandon.

The RCMP then said an autopsy would be done to confirm the person’s identity. In a press release on Tuesday, the RCMP confirmed that the body belonged to Ross.

A bad game is not suspected of his death, the RCMP said.

Multiple search and rescue agencies, along with volunteers, had spent weeks searching the Assiniboine River and its environs for Ross after he was reported missing.

He was last seen on the morning of June 17, when he left home near Grand Valley Park camp to work there, the RCMP said in a press release the next day.

His vehicle was later parked near the nearby Assiniboine River.
