South Africa has withdrawn from the one-day internationals against Australia scheduled for the week after its series of tests ended in January.
In a statement released on Wednesday morning, Cricket Australia said they could not reschedule the matches after receiving a request from South African administrators.
All three games were to be played in Hobart, Sydney and Perth.

The cancellation means Sydney’s test against the Proteas – which ends on January 8 – will mark the end of the men’s international summer, while the women’s team only plays three ODIs and three T20s against Pakistan to ensure let the summer of cricket end at the end. January.
The second of the T20s, scheduled for Australia Day, has moved from Canberra’s Manuka Oval to the Bellerive Oval. It will be the only opportunity for Hobart to see either team.

In an unexpected positive for Cricket Australia, the cancellation of one-day South African players will release players a week ahead of schedule to join their Big Bash teams by the end of the season.
Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said he was “disappointed” that South Africa had withdrawn from the series.
“It is disappointing that Cricket South Africa cannot participate in the ODI series in January,” he said.

Cricket South Africa confirmed in a statement that it had presented Cricket Australia with “four options” to reprogram the ODI series.
“CSA is always eager to honor its bilateral commitments. While CSA is committed to respecting its events regarding the Future Tours program, there will sometimes be unforeseen circumstances that would deny this decision,” said Pholetsi Moseki, director CSA, in a statement.
“CSA contacted its counterpart months ago to reschedule the tour to mutually acceptable dates. CSA offered four options in this regard. Unfortunately, and to our disappointment, none of these were acceptable to Cricket. Australia.
“CSA has agreed for the ICC to award Australia the points of the competition. While it saddens us to lose the crucial points, we are confident that our fit Proteas team will get the points needed during the remaining matches to ensure automatic classification. for India’s most prominent event next year ”.
Two of the men’s T20s have also been moved against the West Indies. The October 7 match scheduled on the Gold Coast has moved to Gabba, while the October 9 match has moved across the country from Brisbane to Perth.
