Fall Guys players report that a bug in the game store makes them buy items they intended to preview and that Mediatonic denies refunds.
The problem, which has been reported by more than 70 users on various Reddit threads, occurs when a player previews an item, such as a costume, in the Fall Guys store.
Normally, players should confirm their purchase, but now players report that their game currency is being taken in exchange for the item without any confirmation from the player.

A Mediatonic spokesman told VGC the following statement:
“What is happening in the game is unthinkable and we are actively addressing it. The customer service response was not acceptable either and we will offer compensation to all affected.”

It looks like a video posted by user u / DerpyDog24 shows the problem in action. When the user clicks on an item, with the intention of previewing it, the purchase is completed automatically.

User u / ChunkyPeat has posted an email to Reddit saying they come from the Fall Guys player support service. It reads:
Hello,
Thanks for your answer.
Please let me correct some of your answer.
You stated that this is a “purchase with errors” and a “known problem”. None of this is the case.
You made the purchase, it’s not a mistake. Whether it was intentional or not, this is still the case.
This is not a “known issue” because it is not an issue. Items cannot be purchased automatically by the system, they always require player entry. Again, accidental or not, you made this entry and purchased the item.
According to our EULA, which you accepted, all purchases are final and will not be refunded.
I apologize for any confusion this may have caused and I hope I have clarified this for you.
Best regards,
Steve

VGC has contacted Mediatonic to verify this email and to request a comment on the issue.
In response to the alleged email, several users report to Reddit that it also doesn’t work to go directly to Epic, the publisher of Fall Guys.
Despite sharing an editor, Fall Guys did not adopt Fortnite’s refund policy, which community members have requested.
The email tone has also rubbed the players the wrong way, with user u / TokiDokiPanic typing, “Yes. The message they sent you is horrible. This is a known bug, but MT and Epic refuse to recognize that it exists “.
Another user added, “In my opinion, it’s not a very professional response from your customer service. And how can they say there’s no mistake? A lot of people have suffered the same problem.”
Fall Guys was played for free on June 21, almost two years after the chaotic Battle Royale game originally debuted on PS4 and PC.
On the same day, it was also released for the first time on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X / S, PS5 and Epic Games Store.
The PC version was also withdrawn from sale on Steam, although existing owners “will continue to receive full support and all tasty updates coming to other platforms.”
Fall Guys reached 50 million players two weeks after playing for free, according to Mediatonic.
