The life of former politician John Efford will be celebrated on Saturday in his beloved hometown.
The former Liberal minister who served at both the provincial and federal levels died on January 2 after a long illness.
His political career spanned from 1985 to 2001.
Efford’s family and friends will welcome the audience on Saturday afternoon at the Port de Grave Pentecostal Table to join them in celebrating his life and the last farewell of the popular and charismatic politician.
The service will be broadcast live on the church’s Facebook page.
Weather permitting, a commemorative flotilla will be held on Sunday, leaving Port de Grave at 2pm and sailing to Green’s Point, at the tip of the Port de Grave peninsula, where the family will throw a wreath at the water and will scatter the Efford’s. ashes, which was his last wish.
