First responders attend a motor vehicle incident on the Trans-Canada Highway in Valleyview on Sunday afternoon.

Traffic slowed on Highway 1 through Valleyview Sunday afternoon when emergency crews responded to a vehicle incident.

Police, Kamloops firefighters and paramedics were at the scene of the crash, which happened on Oriole Road and the Trans-Canada Highway shortly before 4 p.m.

A person loaded in an ambulance could be seen.

According to DriveBC, the vehicle incident blocked lanes heading west on Highway 1 and restricted eastbound traffic to one lane. As of 4:15 p.m., Sunday, it looked like a westbound lane was moving.

“Please be careful and wait for delays,” DriveBC said.

There is still no official news on the number of vehicles involved or the severity of the injuries received as a result of the incident. Castanet Kamloops has contacted BC Emergency Health Services for more information.
