MLB Home Run Derby 2022: Pete Alonso seeks to win third straight title

NEW You can now listen to Fox News articles!

The MLB Home Run Derby is scheduled for Monday night at Los Angeles Dodger Stadium in what is usually a fun pre-All-Star Game.

There will be seven challengers looking to take on the crown of New York Mets hitter Peter Alonso as the first baseman seeks to become the first person to win the Derby three times in a row and tie Ken Griffey Jr. with the most wins of all time with three.

Alonso beat Trey Mancini in last year’s competition 23-22. He also defeated Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in 2019 23-22. There was no competition in 2020 due to the season shortened by the coronavirus pandemic.

Read on to see who the participants in this year’s Home Run Derby are.
