They wrote, “Please, I can remind people NOT to leave dogs in cars with this heat.
“Myself and PSCO Mike were called to a dog left in a car this morning with a 30 degree heat! It had an open window about 4 inches.
“This is not acceptable, it is not enough to leave the windows open and if they call us and the owner is not there and the dog is distressed we will not hesitate to break the window to save the lives of the dogs.
“The owner was there on our arrival and received strong advice and was informed that a police officer will follow up in due course.
“The dog received water from the friendly audience and luckily it was fine, warm but fine.
“If you see a dog left in a car with this heat, please dial 999.”
