A weather warning has been issued in Norfolk and the county is expected to be affected by severe storms and showers once the heat wave has passed.

The yellow weather warning will be in effect between 1pm and 9pm on Wednesday 20 July, according to the Meteorological Office.

It is expected to follow the record temperatures forecast today – with a red weather warning currently in place – that could affect some parts of the county with highs of around 40ÂșC.

While rain may be a welcome spectacle for many tomorrow, it could cause more disruptions in Norfolk.

The Met Office website states: “Where floods or lightning occur, there are chances of delays and some cancellations of train and bus services.

“Showers and floods could also lead to difficult driving conditions and some roadblocks.”
