EastEnders will bring Little Mo’s son Freddie as Bobby Brazier joins the cast

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders is bringing back Little Mo Slater’s son Freddie, but with a new face.

Model and influencer Bobby Brazier is joining the BBC One soap as Freddie in a revival this autumn in his acting debut, taking over from previous child actors Alex and Tom Kilby.

Bobby is the son of presenter Jeff Brazier and late Big Brother contestant Jade Goody, so the entertainment industry runs through his veins.

Freddie Slater was last seen as a boy leaving Walford with his mother Little Mo to start a new life, but now he’s back as a teenager on a mission that could cause major heartbreak.

“I’m really excited to be joining the cast of EastEnders, it’s been perfect so far,” said the young actor. “Everyone has been so nice to me and made settling in easier than I would have expected.

“Getting into the world of acting has always been a vision of mine and to do it with EastEnders as Slater is such a blessing, I’m so grateful. [I’m] loving every minute of Freddie so far and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Walford.”

Producer Chris Clenshaw added: “Freddie Slater is a chaotic 18-year-old with a sensitive soul. A modern boy in touch with his spiritual side. He’s philosophical, accepting, but full of mischief and makes mistakes.

“Bobby is an amazing young addition to the EastEnders cast who brings heart and humility to the role of Freddie Slater and I can’t wait for audiences to get to know him.”

This autumn looks set to be huge for the Slaters as Laila Morse will return to Walford as beloved character Big Mo Harris. Shane Richie’s own return as Alfie Moon has also been shown on screen recently, but it’s unlikely that Kacey Ainsworth will ever return as Little Mo.

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One, with some episodes airing on BBC Two during the summer sporting events. The program is also streamed on BBC iPlayer.
