Emmerdale star Andy Devine, who played the iconic Shadrach Dingle, has died at the age of 79.
The actor, best known for his iconic role in the ITV soap, died in January.
The news of his sad death has come out today.
Andy, born Peter Devine, played Shadrach between 2000 and 2010.
Public records confirm that Andy died on January 27th.
His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Andy also acted as Draconian Guard in several episodes of the Doctor Who Frontier in Space story, as well as Bernard on Channel 4’s Queer As Folk.
Tributes to the actor since the news of his death arose.

It gave life to the character of Shadrach, the descent was the favorite of fans of the ITV program.
He was the husband of Faith Dingle and the father of Chas Dingle and Gennie Walker, and was often involved in near-accidents for nearly a decade in the soap.

Shadrach, a heavy drinker for most of his life on the show, finally died in 2010.
His beloved character was killed in an emotional episode in July that saw him drown tragically in a Dales creek as part of a creepy story about alcohol abuse.
An autopsy later revealed that Shadrach would have succumbed to a broken liver in a few hours due to his alcohol problem if he had not drowned first.
The actor had a long career, which saw him serve in the Royal Navy in the 1960s.
He later became a classic actor before devoting his hand to soaps.
