President Putin’s troops are ‘running out’, says MI6 chief Richard Moore

Russia is on the verge of “running out” of Ukraine and will soon have to halt its operations, giving the country’s defenders a chance to strike back, the head of MI6 has said.

Richard Moore said that according to the latest foreign intelligence agency assessment, the Russians would have difficulty supplying manpower and equipment to their front-line operations for the “next few weeks”.

He also said that President Putin’s spies “were not waging a great war” because they “completely underestimated” Ukraine’s ability to fight.

Speaking yesterday at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado, he said: “The Russians will have a hard time supplying manpower and material. They will have to pause and that will give the Ukrainians an opportunity to strike back.”
