Heavy rain that hit the coast on Friday has eased, but damaging wind warnings remain in place.
A “wind” warning is in place for coastal waters off Fraser Island, Sunshine Coast Waters and the Gold Coast.
This type of warning can see wind speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
A dangerous surf warning is also in place for the Gold Coast, Fraser Island and the Sunshine Coast, raising concerns about erosion.
The search for the man’s car continues Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the Coral Princess cruise ship is circling the coast of Brisbane after it was unable to dock at Brisbane Harbor yesterday due to rising swell.
The ship was forced to battle 6.5 meter waves with around 2,000 passengers on board.
Passengers hope the ship will be able to dock on Saturday morning.
