Lisa Wilkinson says she is happy to return to her hosting duties the project sunday night
The TV presenter and journalist, who has been in the US, posted on her Instagram page: “It’s great to be back in the Sunday project desk tonight after a few weeks on the road in the US gathering a bunch of stories for the show.
“I hope you can join us.”
The high-profile and often controversial host has not appeared as host the project since mid-June.
The Australian had previously reported that during his time away from the desk, Wilkinson would be conducting interviews with musicians and film stars in Hollywood and New York and filing stories for the current affairs program before taking further leave.
During his time away, he appeared in pre-recorded segments for the show, including one with Michael Klim.
Earlier in the week, Wilkinson shared a photo of herself in front of the famous Hotel California in Palm Springs, where she was due to work.
“Lots of room at Hotel California! I’m here in the US for some very special interviews with @theprojecttv. Can’t wait to share more,” she wrote on Instagram, along with three love heart emojis.
And in early July, he appeared on rival network Nine as part of a program celebrating theToday40 years of the show on air.
