Alice Evans has launched another attack on her estranged husband Ioan Gruffudd, claiming she has to “speak her truth” on social media as she “doesn’t have the money” to pay a lawyer.
Fantastic Four actor Gruffudd, 48, filed for joint custody of his two daughters Elsie, eight, and Ella, 12, earlier this month after his wife separated, Evans, 53, is seeking sole custody amid a bitter divorce.
In Instagram posts on Tuesday, Evans accused Gruffudd of using money that should have been spent on her daughters’ welfare in her legal case and insisted she was not telling the truth by calling her a ” bad father” in the legal files.

Evans, who has previously claimed her ex stopped paying her daughter’s private school fees, later shared a text exchange which she hinted was between Gruffudd and one of his daughters.
In a lengthy Instagram rant, Evans began: “You see, I have no money. I gave up my career because I wanted the love of my life to have an amazing career and leave him out most of the time. And I gritted my teeth and got through it.
“I missed work, oh man, I missed work, but I didn’t want a day to go by without seeing my two amazing girls. So hers was a bonus. [sic]’

The 102 Dalmatians star claimed her ex was trying to ‘ruin’ her name and said: ‘Ask my kids.’ Like anyone who knows us. They call me a ‘bad parent’ when I gave up everything for them and I don’t sleep at night just in case and worried about how to feed them, check their health, take them to the dentist…’
She continued: “Those of you who might be thinking ‘well why does she KEEP posting on Instagram when her lawyers are going to rip her off for it?’
‘But think about it. He’s spending money that should have gone to girls’ education, sports, college, using a lawyer to gag me.
Evans added that she had been “locked up” by the domestic violence restraining order granted to Gruffudd.
She continued: “HE can tell. He goes so far as to lie about me being a bad parent (you couldn’t be further from the truth).
‘But me? They threaten me with fines, with jail time if I tell MY TRUTH about what is really going on. And I only have social media because I can’t afford a lawyer.
‘Isn’t this a microcosm of rich and poor America? I will probably go to court for posting this. (another example of how he treats his children)
“I might be praised for doing the right thing. To go through the courts. It might take my kids away from me (good luck with that guy)
‘Either way I have done nothing wrong and I will continue to fight. [sic]’

In a follow-up post, Evans shared an image of court records that appeared to relate to his social media activity.
The context of the presentation was unclear, with only Alice’s name and the words “Instagram” and “Twitter” visible.
Evans captioned the images: “Crazy. Check out her OWN Instagram account.
“It’s a photo of him and Bianca titled ‘FINALLY someone who makes me smile.’
Alice’s statement was incorrect, however, as the image in question, posted in October last year when Ioan went public with his actress girlfriend Bianca Wallace, was actually captioned: ‘Thanks for making- smile at me again.”

Despite his inaccuracy, Evans continued: “By your own admission, Mr Gruffudd, your children have access to Instagram.
“When you left us, you swore on your lives that there was no other woman.
“YET WHEN IT TURNED OUT THERE WAS, (someone from Harrow you bumped into in June ha ha) YOU CHOSE TO TELL YOUR KIDS ON INSTAGRAM?
You broke their hearts.
Evans has previously accused her ex and Wallace of having a three-year relationship; there is no evidence to suggest that Gruffudd was unfaithful.
MailOnline has contacted Gruffudd’s representatives for comment.
Correct: Alice’s statement was wrong, however, as the image in question, posted in October last year when Ioan went public with his actress girlfriend Bianca Wallace, was actually captioned: “Thank you to make me smile again.”
Gruffudd filed a joint custody petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, July 8, asking for custody and visitation rights to see their children.
The actor claimed in the filing that Evans had intentionally tried to cut off communication between him and the children.
He also requested that the girls attend face-to-face therapy and Zoom reunification therapy with him pending court-ordered custody mediation.
Last month, Evans claimed she was “completely out of money for food and bills” but said she was focused on being “the best mum I can be”.
In an Instagram post with one of her daughters in the photo, she wrote a scathing comment about her lack of funds while the court case between her and her estranged husband continues.
She claimed she would receive no financial support from Ioan and was struggling to pay her legal fees and would not be able to “feed or clothe” her daughters.
“Trying to hold it together while we’re under threat, no money for food and bills and I just found out someone tried to break down our front door last night,” she said.
‘But it’s all worth it! (And the one that currently doesn’t want to be photographed.)
‘What’s going on. Most of all, I will be the best mother I can be. Forever. They will never lose me. Thank you all for so much love and support! Having a bit of a hard time!’

Evans claimed in June that Gruffudd had managed to extend his domestic violence restraining order (DVRO) against her, but she denied any claims of abuse and insisted she was “chasing Johnny Depp-style fame “.
It has since been revealed that Gruffudd was seeking the continuation of a restraining order against Evans.
Gruffudd applied for a temporary restraining order against Evans in February 2022, providing 113 pages of Alice’s abusive text messages, emails and social media posts.
In an attempt to close the matter, Gruffudd engaged Brad Pitt’s divorce lawyer, Anne Kiley, who is believed to have asked for the order, which requires Evans not to contact or harass either him or his girlfriend, stay at least for at least another year.

The couple became Instagram official in October, after she posted a photo of them together with the words: “Thanks for making me smile again.”
Evans and Gruffudd met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000, when the actress was in a relationship with Pablo Picasso’s grandson, Olivier.
The former couple got engaged six years later after she gave him an ultimatum about their relationship and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Mexico in September 2007.
Gruffudd has not publicly addressed the couple’s divorce.
