Former TCU standout and current NFL player Jeff Gladney was one of two people killed overnight in a car accident in Dallas.
According to ProFootballTalk.com, Gladney agent Brian Overstreet told Ft. Worth Star-Telegram that Gladney, 25, died in a car accident Monday morning. The identity of the second person has not yet been confirmed.
“We ask for prayers for family and privacy at this difficult time,” Overstreet said.
Gladney, of New Boston, Texas, was entering his second season in the league and was recently picked up by the Arizona Cardinals after spending his first season in Minnesota.
ProFootballTalk said Gladney started every Viking game during her rookie year, but was released before the 2021 season after she allegedly assaulted a woman in Dallas in April. He didn’t play in 2021 and was found not guilty in the low season; then signed with Arizona.
The Cardinals said on Monday on Twitter that they were devastated to learn of Gladney’s death and that she was involved in the team’s organized activities last week.

He will be missed by our entire community. Our deepest condolences, prayers and condolences go to Jeff’s family, friends and colleagues at TCU.”
While playing for the Frogs, Gladney, a red-shirt freshman, received several honors, including a 2020 senior invitation; 2019 Second All-American Team, FWAA; 2019 Second All-American Team, Phil Steele; 2019 First Team All-Big 12; 2019 AP All-Big 12 First Team; 2018 Pro Football Focus First-Team All-Big 12; 2018 Second All-Big 12 Team; 2018 Second AP All-Big 12 Team; and Honorable Mention 2017 All-Big 12.

This news from Jeff Gladney impacted me differently. She had the privilege of playing with him during his debut year in Minnesota. One of the most respectful and intentional newbies I’ve ever been with. He always had a smile and came to work. Sad sad. So young, so beautiful. RIP Young King
