Conversations have been opened by Timber
United have reportedly contacted Ajax for the highly valued Timber defender. The Guardian say Red Devils officials are exploring a deal after Ten Hag identified the 20-year-old as the answer to his team’s central defense problems after tough seasons for captain Harry Maguire and star signing Raphael Varane.
Ajax will ask for a fee of around £ 43 million, however, with Timber making his debut with the new United boss when he was a teenager. Also capable of playing as a right winger, the Dutch international is believed to be Ten Hag’s favorite candidate, although Villarreal star Pau Torres is still considered alongside Bastoni.

Red Devils ‘following’ Danjuma
Although Torres has been Villarreal’s most linked player with a change at Old Trafford, the Danjuma winger has emerged as a potential option. According to the Manchester Evening News, United are watching Bournemouth’s former ace, but the Red Devils’ chances of signing Danjuma have been unlikely at this stage.
The 25-year-old, who also represents the Netherlands, has previously been linked with rival Liverpool and helped Villarreal reach the Champions League semi-finals this season with six goals in the competition. His agent, Michale Moses, recently opened the door to a move, telling Radio Castellón: “There is a 50 percent chance that Danjuma will leave this summer.”

United suffers the blow of Bastoni
Red Devils target Alessandro Bastoni is reluctant to leave Inter Milan this summer in the face of interest from Old Trafford and Tottenham Hotspur. Evening Standard says the winning Serie A center-back, who could only help the Nerazzurri to finish second this season, is keen to stay at the San Siro amid speculation of a possible exit.
Bastoni, 23, is already a full-fledged international from Italy and broke up with Inter three years ago with Antonio Conte, who now heads the Spurs. In addition to his team, United have been labeled interested in recent days, but it looks like Ten Hag will also have to look elsewhere.
