WWE SummerSlam Live Results: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar

This year’s edition of WWE’s “Biggest Party of the Summer” will be the company’s first pay-per-view since Vince McMahon’s retirement.

SummerSlam takes place tonight at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The PPV will be headlined by Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

WWE is promoting this as the last meeting between Reigns and Lesnar. A money-in-the-bank entry can also play into the game, with Theory promising to profit whoever wins.

Theory will also challenge Bobby Lashley for the United States title tonight. Other title matches will see Bianca Belair defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey will challenge Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and The Usos and Street Profits will face off for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. In his hometown of Nashville, Jeff Jarrett will be the special guest referee for the tag title fight.

Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin, Logan Paul vs. The Miz, and a No DQ match between The Mysterios and The Judgment Day are also slated for SummerSlam.

Tonight’s PPV starts at 8pm ET. There will also be a pre-show starting at 7pm Eastern.

Show Summary —

Start show

The panel was hosted by Kayla Braxton, Jerry Lawler, Booker T, Kevin Patrick and Peter Rosenberg. They ran for the card.

(As usual, I don’t plan to recap the entire pre-show, just what seems a bit notable.)

Lawler and Booker buried Pat McAfee because he is not a true wrestler sports entertainer like Baron Corbin. One of the other panelists suggested that Lawler take on McAfee if he felt so low about him and Lawler was fine with that.

Theory went back and explained his plan (again) to Sarah Schreiber and felt very confident.

Titus O’Neil presented the WWE title belts to Meals of Hope, PENCIL and Musicians on Call and announced that each charity would receive $20,000.

The person from the cryptic videos will appear tonight.
