RCMP said in a news release Friday night that Dawson Romeo, described as non-verbal and autistic, was last seen at approximately 7:15 p.m. Friday, walking west from a house about 5 km southwest of Hudson Bay. The nearest intersection is Township Road 450 and Range Road 2041, police said.

RCMP said in a statement Saturday afternoon that Romeo’s body was found near the area where he was last seen on July 29. Her family was notified and police said the initial investigation determined her death was not suspicious.

Hudson’s Bay RCMP also thanked local community groups, organizations and residents who assisted in the search.
