Clearly penalized for dangerous throw

Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary has entered an early guilty plea to a third-degree endangerment charge.

Cleary will miss five NRL games, ruling him out of the rest of the regular season, but will be eligible to return for Week 1 of the NRL finals series.

The representative halfback had been sent off for the dangerous tackle on Eels five-eighth Dylan Brown during the Round 20 clash at CommBank Stadium on Friday night.

Panthers manager Ivan Cleary will name a replacement at half-back on Tuesday afternoon.
