Local news motorcycle show in memory of missing man and friend

The family of a man believed to have drowned late last year have launched a fundraiser in his memory.

Adolfo Ferreira and his friend Michael Gill disappeared during a hunting trip in central Newfoundland on November 14.

They are presumed to have drowned after their boat capsized.

Ferreira’s girlfriend, Laura Cross, says she felt the need to honor his life in a way that gave back to the community.

He organized a motorcycle show with all proceeds going to search and rescue.

Cross says motorcycles were one of Ferreira’s passions, and he would have been very happy to see a rally named after him.

She says her neon-colored motorcycle and bright blue Jeep were placed front and center at the event as a symbol of her “bright, bold personality.”
