MultiVersus, the Warner Bros. fighting game whose free open beta began last week, will have its first season of content delayed until an unspecified later date, the official Twitter account said Wednesday night. of the game
The delay also includes the release of Rick and Morty’s Morty, a playable character originally announced for release on August 9, the same day that Season 1 began. (Rick was supposed to join the game during a date later unspecified during the first season as well.)
“We know this may be disappointing to some and want to reassure our community that we are dedicated to delivering new and exciting content that delights players,” Player First Games said on Twitter.
The MultiVersus early access/beta period was supposed to last until August 9th. It launched on July 26 with four characters unlocked for free: Superman, Finn (from Adventure Time), Garnet (from Steven Universe) and Reindog, a brand new character. unique to the game.
Thirteen other characters, ranging from Wonder Woman to Bugs Bunny and LeBron James from Space Jam: A New Legacy, can be unlocked by completing challenges or using in-game currency or MultiVersus premium, where they’re about $7 each.
MultiVersus open beta is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with cross-play and cross-progression support on all platforms.
