Several firefighters are fighting a fire on a straw property in Torquay. The fire was reported shortly before 4.30pm today (Tuesday 31 May).
While 12 firefighters are currently attending the scene, a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the teams were “in the early stages” of extinguishing the fire.
The spokesman said: “Insulated property and thatched roof. 12 engines are being worked on, two hoses to be turned off. The scene was called at 4.21pm. It is believed that everyone is out of the building at this time. , but in the early stages of shutting it down. ” .
