The Florida Supreme Court protects people’s freedom and is inherent in the way we do it as in The judiciary is to respect and observe the limited role our judges play in our constitutional system of government,” Francis said.

DeSantis previously tried to nominate Francis to the same position in 2020, but was blocked by a lawsuit that said she had not met the requirement to have been on the Florida bar for a decade.

Instead, the role was given to judge Jamie Grosshans.
