More than 99 per cent of eligible Western Australians have received two doses of the vaccine.
About 22,000 eligible people have not received the blow, and many are unable to work or have moved to jobs that were not within the rules of the vaccine mandate, since the policy was enforced in January.
McGowan said of the state’s 150,000 public sector employees, 270 had resigned or been fired by March of this year and 500 had refused entry to their jobs.
Although most Australian states have abandoned labor mandates, some of Australia’s top employers will continue to demand that their workers be vaccinated against COVID-19 even after state government mandates are abolished.
This headline confirmed that the supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths, Virgin Australia, Telstra and Commonwealth Bank would maintain vaccine guidelines regardless of government policies.
Announcing the removal of the general vaccination warrants, McGowan also said that the seven-day quarantine requirements for unvaccinated Australian residents returning to WA would be removed, but unvaccinated international visitors are still unable to enter the country according to Commonwealth standards.
Rules restricting visitor entry to remote indigenous communities will also be lifted from June 15.
