COVID-19 update: June 1, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 8,452 new cases as of 8pm last night. There are currently 50,668 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 8pm last night, there were 298 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 8 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes a death that dates back to May 27 that was reported yesterday to WA Health, it was a woman in her 70s.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (108) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 8,452 cases, 3,094 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 5,358 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 11,347 PCR tests were performed yesterday in public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 744,179 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
