COVID-19 Update: August 10, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 2,889 new cases as of 6pm last night. There are currently 16,418 active cases in Western Australia.

The latest numbers from the night show, there were 339 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 8 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes four deaths, which were reported to WA Health yesterday, dating back to July 30, 1 woman in her 90s, 2 women in their 80s and 1 woman in her 50s .

Notes:

  1. This data is based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The rest of the reported daily cases (65) do not yet have an assigned region. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 2,889 cases, 983 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 1,906 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 5,623 PCR tests were done yesterday in public or private pathology clinics.

WA has recorded 1,095,467 cases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anyone with symptoms should be tested immediately and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. Visit the HealthyWA website for a full list of testing clinics and opening hours (external site).
