That’s right, by 2030, your iPhone, Mac or iPad will be powered by renewable energy.

Even if you plug it in to charge from “raw power” from the grid, Apple will offset your actual usage; you don’t need to do anything.
Apple isn’t monitoring your usage, but they certainly know how to understand usage patterns, so they’ve planned for usage across their 1.8 billion installed devices.
This use represents 22% of the company’s global carbon footprint.

Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke about the commitment while celebrating 40 years of Apple in Australia, saying: “We are proud to celebrate Apple’s long history in Australia and deepen our shared commitment to protect the planet and create opportunities in people’s lives.”
“We are fortunate to have so many great partners, colleagues and customers across the country, and we will continue to work together to make the world a fairer and more just place for all,” he said.
Jackson spoke today when visiting Sydney about the company’s commitment to the environment.

“At Apple, we recognize the urgent need to address the climate crisis and are accelerating our global work to ensure that our products have a net zero climate footprint throughout their lifecycle,” he said.
“We are proud to be a part of Australia’s transition to a cleaner energy grid and delighted that Apple will soon be supporting Australian customers running their favorite clean energy products.”
In addition, Apple also announced a program to support postgraduate students at RMIT in Melbourne and UTS in Sydney to complete a four-week Swift coding course as part of their studies, regardless of what they are studying in general .

And finally, Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative (REJI) has expanded to Australia, and the company has announced that they are funding initiatives that serve Indigenous communities here in Australia.

“The extension of Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative to Australia is part of a long-term commitment by Apple to help support Australia’s Indigenous community by partnering with organizations that drive a significant change”.
