Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been nominated for the 2022 PFA Player of the Year award after a fantastic season finale. However, teammate Son Heung-min has been lost on the roster, despite his own impressive individual season.
The startling duo were critical parts of the Spurs’ resurgence under the direction of Antonio Conte, who led the club back to the top four at the end of the campaign. The Italian managed to beat North London’s rival Arsenal to reserve a place in next season’s Champions League, giving a big boost to his work at the club.
Speaking about the challenges of his time with the Lilywhites, Conte said: “It’s very, very difficult; to get a place in the Champions League I have to consider this a great success for me and for my players. and also for the club I consider it a great success after three years Tottenham are able to play in the Champions League again It is very important for us because the best players, the best coaches want to play in this competition, for this trophy “We must be happy with what we have done.”

While the main story of the last day surrounded Tottenham securing fourth place in the league in Norwich, there was also a subplot at stake. Son was still looking for the Golden Boot, and needed to improve on Mohamed Salah’s goal on the day for a goal to take the hit.
The 29-year-old scored two goals in five minutes on Carrow Road, while his Egyptian rival scored one of his own against the Wolves, meaning they shared the prize with 23 goals in the Premier League. Despite his fantastic individual season, the striker has been continually rejected in votes for other awards.
This is something that has continued, as the PFA Player of the Year does not include the South Korean in the list. Meanwhile, his partner Kane is there, alongside: Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mané, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin de Bruyne.
He has left many wondering how Son has failed to make the list after his previous campaign records.
