Two Ottawa residents have died in a plane crash in Northumberland County.
The incident happened Saturday evening in a field near a private airstrip in rural Port Hope near Kellogg and Massey roads.
Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police along with Northumberland Fire and Emergency Medical Services attended the scene shortly before 9:00 p.m.
The two occupants of the plane, a Cherokee Piper, have been identified as Alvin Crosby, 74, and Suzanne Parent, 72, both of Ottawa. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The OPP has since cleaned up the scene.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is now working to determine the cause of the crash.
