By now, you may have noticed that those in Destin for the SEC’s spring meetings have stayed away from commenting on the Nick Saban-Jimbo Fisher saga.
Even Fisher said Wednesday he will move on.
Paul Finebaum asked LSU athletic director Scott Woodward about the back-and-forth between Alabama coach and Texas A&M coach.
“I won’t stand between two hillbillies fighting West Virginia. This is a win-win situation,” Woodward said when he appeared on The Paul Finebaum Show on Wednesday.

Woodward certainly knows the two coaches. Woodward’s time at LSU overlapped with Saban’s from 2000 to 2004, which was also the same time Fisher worked with Saban at Baton Rouge. Woodward, who spent a period as Aggies ’sporting director, hired Fisher in 2017.
Last month, the two coaches lit fireworks. Fisher said Saban was a “narcissist.” These statements were made after the Alabama coach accused Jackson State’s Aggies and Deion Sanders of paying for the players.
Saban has apologized and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey continued with a public reprimand for both.
Sankey’s comments, however, on NIL’s offers may have shed some light on where he is in the feud.
