Queen’s Platinum Jubilee: Queen and Family Watch Step from Buckingham Palace Balcony

The Queen made her first appearance at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations when she stepped out onto the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the RAF planes pass by.

As the first monarch to commemorate 70 years on the throne, the queen let the younger generation take the spotlight for this morning’s Trooping the Color ceremony.

The Prince of Wales took the salute in place of his 96-year-old mother for what is known as the Queen’s Birthday Parade. The Prince, Colonel of the Welsh Guard, was joined by the Duke of Cambridge, Colonel of the Irish Guard, and the Royal Princess, Colonel of The Blues and Royals.
