Mass shootings in schools in the US
The fury in Texas ended in a series of mass shootings at American schools that have shocked the world and fueled a heated debate between proponents of tighter arms control and those who oppose any legislation that may compromise the right of Americans to bear arms.
The shooting in Texas was one of the deadliest in an American school since a gunman killed 26 people, including 20 children ages 5 to 10, in an attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in December 2012 .
Anxious families after a shooting at a Texas elementary school that killed 19 students, 2 adults
The mass shooting in Uvalde was the deadliest school shooting in Texas history. In 2018, a gunman shot dead 10 people at Santa Fe High School in the Houston area.
Also in 2018, a former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student from Parkland, Florida, killed 17 students and educators.
