The remake of Resident Evil 4 will arrive on PS5, Xbox and PC in March 2023

Capcom continues its trend of remaking classic Resident Evil games with the fourth main entry in the survival horror series. A remake of Resident Evil 4 will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X / S and PC on March 24, 2023, bringing the action-focused game to modern platforms. Capcom also says the game will have some sort of support for the next iteration of PlayStation VR. You can check out the first trailer above to see what a next-generation Leon Kennedy is like.

“We want the game to feel familiar to fans of the series, while giving it a fresh feel,” Capcom wrote in a blog post. “This is being done by reimagining the game’s history while maintaining the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls to a modern standard.” In addition, Capcom shared that “many members of the team” of the excellent remake of the 2019 Resident Evil 2 have worked on this title.

Similarly, Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil Village is also in the works for PSVR2 and looks scary. Here’s Capcom:

In addition to the PS VR2 headphones, you’ll be using PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers to represent every hand in the world. Try to protect using both arms and Ethan will do the same; he raises a pistol and Ethan will hold his own. You can now also perform dynamic actions, such as firing a weapon while holding a knife with your other hand, or holding a pistol with one hand and a shotgun with the other. These advanced controllers increase the player’s immersion with the game.

Here is the first teaser:

The developer previously released modern remakes of Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020), while RE4 recently hit virtual reality platforms.

Updated at 19:22 ET, June 2: Capcom’s press release for Resident Evil 4 shared that the game will also arrive on Xbox and PC consoles, so we’ve included it in the post.
