A man and a woman and two teenagers have escaped injury after cars burst into flames in an arson fire in Ballymoney on Saturday.
The PSNI said the vehicles were parked at the house in the Crescent area of the city when they were attacked.
An investigation is now underway.
A PSNI spokesman said: “Just before midnight, it was reported that two cars parked outside a house in the area were set on fire with both vehicles damaged during the incident. It was reported that a man and woman, both in their 30s and two teenagers, were inside the property but were not injured.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and we would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact police on 101 quoting of reference 2334 27/08/22”.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a wheelie bin was set alight at the front of a property in an arson fire in Magherafelt on Friday.
Police said the incident happened in Leckagh Drive in the early hours of this morning and have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
Detective Constable Dunlop of the PSNI said: “Shortly after 00:35 a bin was reported to have been placed against the front door of the property and caught fire. The Irish Fire and Rescue Service from Nord attended and extinguished the fire, which had damaged the front door of the property.No one was inside during the incident.
“Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances and we would appeal to anyone with information relating to this incident or who may have seen anything suspicious between midnight on Thursday August 25 and the early hours of Friday August 26 to come forward contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 50 26/08/22.”
