The state of play this morning has been one of the strongest presentations I think we’ve ever had, with a good breadth of announcements, both new and old. With a good pace and something for everyone, here’s everything PlayStation announced on its June 2022 State of Play.
The remake of Resident Evil 4 has finally been announced
The game looks set to be released only for the next generation and will also include PSVR2 content. The game will be released on March 24, 2023.
Resident Evil Village arrives on PlayStation VR2
The footage looks like you’d expect and includes many of the same features as Resident Evil 4 VR, including dual use.
Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners Chapter 2 Retribution Continues with Walking Dead VR’s Epic Legacy
It looks as violent and bloody as you might expect and it premieres this year. Could this mean that PlayStation VR2 will still arrive this year? We can only wait.
No Man’s Sky also comes to PlayStation VR2
It really is the game you keep giving, right?
We first took a look at Horizon: Call of the Mountain for PlayStation VR2
It is one of the first exclusive to PlayStation VR2 and features
Horizon: Forbidden West is receiving a free upgrade
The update offers better visual fidelity in performance mode, your computer’s transfiguration options, a new plus game mode, and ultra-hard difficulty.
Spider-Man arrives on PC
It has an extra crunchy look. It is released with all downloadable content in August 2022. Miles Morales will also hit PC later this year.
We took a good look at Stray and even had a release date
I know everyone is obsessed with the cat, but it’s the music that does it for me. It will be released on July 19, so you don’t have to wait long. It even comes to PlayStation Plus!
The first gameplay for the Calisto protocol was shown and is a very dead space
A creepy monologue, creepy robots, fleshy wet monsters. What more could you want? It will be released for current and previous generation consoles on December 2, 2022.
Rollerdrome is a Synthy As Hell Roller Brawler from the OlliOlli World Team
It opens on August 16th and features a different art direction and a nice eighties atmosphere that I can keep up with.
Eternights mixes action games with dating sims
It comes on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 and I’m sure it’s someone’s vibe, but it’s not for me sorry.
The first proper Street Fighter 6 game was shown and it looks like it will be very enjoyable
We took a look at a Yakuza-style (or something) single-player mode, as well as a newcomer named Jamie and of course Chun-Li. There is even a new dynamic commentator system. It will arrive in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. Sorry, Xbox One gamers.
Tunic comes to PlayStation
The adorable fox makes the leap from Xbox to PlayStation in September. I really enjoyed this game when I played it earlier this year, so be sure to try it out.
Season: A Letter to the Future is a road trip bike game that you didn’t know you needed
I’m intrigued by the unique premise of this game: you play as a young woman who has to collect memories before a cataclysmic event wipes it all out. It will arrive later this year.
We have a new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI and will arrive next year I’m sorry
The combat seems to mix elements of both Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy VII Remake and seems to have a more medieval feel than previous games. It won’t arrive this year, as was initially rumored, but we are more or less a full year away from launch, as it will arrive in the Australian winter.
