Last week, Samsung released the beta One UI Watch for the Galaxy Watch 4 series, inviting powerful users to try out the new Wear OS updates before the official release. The company has now released the first beta update to registered devices.
As detected by Tizenhelp, the beta version of One UI Watch 4.5 is now available for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The update includes the R8 ** XXU1ZVE7 firmware version and weighs 796 MB. It is currently launching in South Korea, with other markets that will follow the same soon.
In terms of new changes, One UI Watch 4.5 brings significant improvements to the clock screen, notifications, calls, and keyboard. The clock screen user interface has been updated, while new edge / box duo complications have also been added. The update also adds dual SIM support, so you can now choose your preferred SIM to make calls. Currently, when you make a call from your Galaxy Watch 4, you have no choice between SIM: the call is automatically made through the most commonly used SIM.
The latest beta update also improves notifications. A new unified composer is supported with drafts, and notifications can now display additional information with subtext field support. In addition, the default keyboard is being updated with Gboard by adding a QWERTY layout, continuous input, and perfect typing input and voice. Finally, the update adds data, alarm names, notifications, and other features to the alarm settings.
Along with the beta update, Samsung has also released the Galaxy Watch 4 beta plugin. The beta app is only available to those who have signed up for the beta program through the Samsung Members app.
