A 20-year-old man is in hospital in a life-threatening condition after being hit by the mirror of a truck passing by Macleod Trail.
Police officials say a van was traveling south on Block 5500 on the Macleod Trail shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday when it cut off a pedestrian entering the road.
A preliminary investigation determined that the pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk, tripped and entered the traffic lane.
The driver of the van, a 40-year-old man who was not injured in the crash, remained at the scene after the collision.
Speed and deterioration are not suspicious factors of the collision.
