COVID-19 update on June 4, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 6,242 new cases as of 8pm last night. There are currently 44,731 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 8pm last night, there were 278 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 11 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes 10 new deaths dating back to May 13 that were reported yesterday at WA Health; one woman over 100, four women over 90; two men and a woman in their 80s; and two women in their 70s.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (122) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 6,242 cases, 2,214 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 4,028 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 8,028 PCR tests were performed yesterday in public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 765,645 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
